OUTside: Skating with Annika

  • St. James Park 741 Saint James Lane St. George, UT, 84790 United States (map)

In continuing to expand our OUTside programming, we’re partnering with one of our incredible committee volunteers Annika to hold roller skating events that provide opportunity for folks of all skill levels.

St. James Park Route

This route does involve trail skating, but all skill levels are still encouraged to join.

We follow the bike path for an out and back trail that is about 5 miles. It typically takes about 1-1.5 hours to complete.

The trail is mostly flat, with one small hill and great views of the Virgin River.

Annika and other volunteers will be there to assist folks who are still learning to navigate ascending and descending hills safely. There are many options depending on your comfort level.

There is a basketball court and pond at the turn around point where can stop and take a break. The court is skateable and good for practicing skate tricks. There are water fountains and bathrooms at both ends.

Look for Annika when you get there to join the fun!

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Skates or Blades*

  • Knee/wrist pads

  • Water and snacks

  • Sun protection (clothing and sunscreen)

*Attendees must bring their own skates to this event. If you need to borrow skates, we may be able to accommodate — but there is no guarantee on sizing and availability. Please message us if you need to borrow and we’ll try to help as best we can.

Please be sure to check out our indoor skate events as well if you prefer a more consistent terrain and rentable equipment!
