Executive Committee

The executive committee is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing the organizations priorities.

We are the boots on the ground. The creators of events. The receivers of ideas. The active listeners.

Our committee is deeply involved in brainstorming and roadmap planning — in collaboration with our board of directors. You’ll likely see us at many of our events, so be sure to come and say hello!

Katie (they/them) is the Vice President of Client Delivery at a large digital marketing agency, by day. Katie’s professional background is centered around project management, strategy, and organizational advancement. In addition to enjoying the meticulous art of managing tasks; Katie is also very passionate about and creating efficient, sustainable processes and exploring how POSU can advance into its next chapter.

Katie moved to Southern Utah in 2022 — and is enjoying the natural beauty of the area and building a strong community based on visibility and connection. Katie enjoys cooking, woodworking and DIY projects, live music, and nurturing their ever expanding collection of houseplants.

Kent Carollo (he/him)
Director of operations

Kent (he/him) was raised in Boise, Idaho with his six sisters where he took to art and design quickly. His childhood passions eventually lead to full-time positions at design agencies, marketing teams and illustration networks. He currently works as a graphic designer and illustrator, with a company who publishes behavioral change curriculums. When he isn’t at work, Kent enjoys live music, dinner parties and outings with his husband, Cole and dog, Olive.

Kent’s involvement with Encircle, LOVELOUD and other LGBTQ+ non profit organizations have helped him find meaning since coming out as gay as an adult. He is eager to work as the Director of Operations for Pride of Southern Utah and return the encouragement he received on his own journey.

Carly (she/her) was born and raised in rural Utah and has always been passionate about the way that human connection can serve as a pillar in building a community centered in safety, justice, collaboration, and mutual aid.

Since graduating with a Master of Social Work from the University of Utah in 2019, Carly has immersed herself as an advocate, licensed clinician, and adjunct-instructor in work with community-based mental health agencies, anti-violence and social-justice-based nonprofit organizations, and social work higher education. Carly currently owns a mental health therapy practice where she feels grateful to share the therapy space with folks recovering from chronic stress and trauma, with a specialization in providing queer-affirming care to the LGBTQ+ community. She is very excited to expand her work with the Southern Utah community as Chair of Community Resources.

In her free time, Carly embodies joy by walking with her dogs, eating good food with people she loves, cozying up with a book, and exploring southern Utah’s red rock.
